Battery Commander, DEROS 9 Mar 1971, Fire Support Base C-2, Dewey Canyon II
He served with the 2d Infantry Division on Korea'a DMZ from December 1967-68, the 3d Infantry Division in Schweinfurt and Wurzburg, Germany from 1975-78 and from 1982-1984, he commanded the 1st Bn, 94th FA (8" SP/MLRS) , 1st Armored Division in Nurenburg, Germany.
COL John E. Bowers retired in 1990 from the Army at Fort Leavenworth, KS after 27 years of active service.
